TENTHOUSANDTHINGS

CONCEPT

The name TENTHOUSANDTHINGS is taken from the phrase
“from one thing begets the Ten Thousand Things”
that was espoused by Lao Tzu and later Taoists.
TENTHOUSANDTHINGS opened a pioneering showroom & boutique in the Meat Packing
District of New York where trendy boutiques, hotels and restaurants compete for space.

Designers Ron Anderson and David Reese decided on the name of their brand, feeling
resonance with the ethos of “One thing begets ten thousand.”

The plastered walls of the TENTHOUSANDTHINGS boutique in the Meat Packing
District are decorated with glass objects and
chairs carved from virgin wood by the designers themselves.
In the same way as their jewelry, the resulting space combines solemnity
with nature and avant-garde sharpness.

The jewelry of TENTHOUSANDTHINGS, which is all made in the New York studio,
uses mainly 18K gold and silver together with semi-precious stones like rubies and pearls.

The distinctively sculptured gold and
silver forms evoke minimalist art lingering in the silence.
In particular, silver pieces are oxidized to express superb shadow within small motifs.
Moreover, rather than adopting perfect cutting,
roughly-hewn stones are combined with Mississippi freshwater pearls to
create numerous textures and products that are truly one of a kind.
